Director of Student Growth
Central Christian School is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Student Growth. This is a full-time position that begins on July 1, 2022.
We are looking for an experienced educator who has expertise in teaching and assessment and a passion for helping students and Christian schools to thrive. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the flourishing of students. The Director of Student Growth will report to the Head of School and will serve as a member of the HoS Leadership Team (along with the Director of Academics, Director of Operations, and Director of Admissions and Advancement) and will partner very closely with the Director of Academics to move the academic program of Central Christian School forward. This next administrator should be a Christ-follower whose relationship is defined by professing Christ as Savior and Lord and is in pursuit of spiritual growth. A bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field is required (master’s degree preferred), along with at least five years teaching experience and a demonstrated leadership role in an educational setting.
Areas of focus will include, but are not limited to:
Overseeing the assessment of all students including standardized testing, benchmark/common assessments and report cards
Facilitating a healthy school culture to ensure the whole-person thriving of our students (academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually)
Overseeing the discipline of students
Coaching teachers to support various learners and foster differentiation
Leading the Student Support Team (SST) to ensure students are thriving and moving forward
Co-Leading the Faculty/Staff Leadership Team
Supporting the school’s accreditation process and leading standards involving academic program
Training and mentoring new teachers throughout the school year
Assisting Head of School in the hiring of new teachers
Serving on Central’s Admissions Committee
The ideal candidate will have:
Eagerness to serve in a Christian learning environment
Experience in working in a culturally diverse community
Experience in student development both in a classroom and more broadly in a school community
A history of professional learning in areas of assessment and measuring student growth
Demonstrated success in building/managing systems to help students thrive in all aspects of their school experience
Proven success in motivating a group in order to move them forward
A collaborative, flexible, team-based approach to problem-solving
Strength in communicating ideas clearly and effectively to a faculty audience
Ability to receive feedback and make adjustments in response to the feedback
A commitment to professionalism and confidentiality
