Our need is great, because our commitment is great.
We have an unapologetic desire to make Central Christian School available for all mission-fit families because of our commitment to and celebration of the fullness of the kingdom of God.
Central's budgetary needs are not met with tuition alone. In fact, there are several pieces to Central's financial equation, and our school would look very different without God's provision. Put simply, the School depends on the generosity of individual donors to come alongside that of Central Presbyterian Church in order to make a Central education possible for our families.
The answer to this question is a resounding 'Yes!' Just as diversity exists in many other areas of our school - race, socio-economics and learning style, to name a few - diversity also exists in giving. God faithfully provides through His people at Central. Few can make large gifts, but many can make smaller gifts to meet the needs of our students. In fact, nearly 90% of the gifts made to Central annually are $300 or below. So please pray about what you can do for Central, because EVERY gift counts.
We ask that you prayerfully reconsider your willingness to make a gift. We stand together in all it takes to educate our students, and as a vital member of our community, we humbly ask you to stand with us. You may be surprised to learn that our donor list includes individuals all along the socio-economic spectrum, even Central families currently receiving financial assistance. We seek 100% giving from Board members, faculty, parents, and grandparents. As explained above, a gift of ANY amount makes a difference for our students.
Additionally, you can generate actual dollars for Central without a financial outlay of your own, by volunteering at Ditto. As a member school, Central provides the volunteer workforce for Ditto for four weeks throughout the school year. And each year, a portion of Ditto's profits are returned to Central to specifically support Central families in need ($65,000 in 2023).
Another way to support Central Christian School families, again without any financial outlay, is to turn your state tax liability into an investment for the education of qualifying Central Christian School students. To learn more, visit Herzog Tomorrow Foundation, Central's partner in Missouri's K-12 Scholarship program known as MOScholars.
Central School Fund
The Central School Fund (CSF) is Central's annual fund and is integral in helping us maintain financial health each year. As we strive to keep tuition affordable, tuition revenue does not fully cover all the operating costs to run the school and the CSF covers the gap. When you make a gift to the Central School Fund, your generosity helps support professional development opportunities for teachers, supplies for our learning environment, building improvements, access to outstanding curricular resources, and much more.
Scholarships
Central Christian School provides need-based, partial tuition aid (up to 50%) for qualifying 3K-6th Grade families. However, for some, that assistance is not enough. We are privileged to offer additional scholarships to families whose financial situation qualifies them for more than a 50% discount. These funds are often provided by generous individuals, yet they are limited. We hope to continue growing these funds and create opportunities to welcome more students for whom finances are a barrier.
One Run
One Run is one of the most anticipated community events of the year. Proceeds from this annual fun run are used to provide need-based scholarships and financial assistance to Central families. Sponsor One Run to support our socio-economically diverse community! Register now to join us on October 28 at Shaw Park! ATTN: Sponsors should contact us by October 1 for a logo to be included on our shirts, and Registrations must be received by October 7 to receive a shirt. After 10/7, shirts cannot be guaranteed (the order will have already been placed!)
Endowment
A gift to our endowment fund ensures that this excellent learning environment is here for many years to come. What children and families experience at Central is unique - we believe unlike any other learning opportunity in St. Louis. Families sacrifice nothing by choosing to partner with Central to educate their children. We share a vision with parents that their children would be prepared for the academic challenges of secondary school - all for the glory of our Lord. Help us ensure that reality for the next generation of children.
Ditto
Ditto Family Resale is a store whose profits are earmarked for scholarships at eight local Christian schools. As one of Ditto's member schools, Central provides the volunteer workforce at Ditto for four weeks during the school year. Each two-hour shift worked during those four weeks is the equivalent of providing $300 dollars in scholarships! In Ditto's short history, we've received over $115,000 supporting Central families in need, and the number is growing each year!
