Thank you for your interest in Central Christian School. As a current Central parent, I know choosing a school where your child will thrive is an immense decision. Schools, especially in the formative years in which Central serves, are places where minds are educated but also where hearts and character are shaped. Seeds planted in these early years will grow into guiding traits as children grow into young adults and lifelong learners. Though these years pass quickly, their impact is deep and the schools we choose become major contributors to the growth of this next generation.
Central Christian School is a Gospel-driven, academically excellent learning community for each unique image-bearer of God. Our mission is to partner with families to prepare children to engage the world by instilling a passion for God, a love of truth, and a zeal to serve.
We seek to do this by cultivating an academic environment that values:
- An unapologetic Christian faith woven into our academic program and school community,
- Strong academic preparation for secondary school, and
- A beautifully diverse community.
As a Christian school, it’s our deepest hope that God will use the learning and relationships cultivated within our walls to capture the hearts of our students. Through the study of God’s world in literacy, science, math, and other curricular areas, along with studying God’s word, our students are immersed in a learning environment that points to the One who created the world, who is also the One who created and delights in them. It’s our prayer that when our graduates begin the next steps of their educational journeys, they do so knowing first that they are deeply loved by God, and second how to use both their minds and hearts to worship and love Him.
At the heart of our commitment to strong academics is the belief that academic excellence and a Biblical worldview can, and should, go hand-in-hand. We believe that God is glorified both in our deepening understanding of the world He created as well as in our hard work. Through the loving, personal, and creative instruction of our teachers, our students are cheered on towards risk-taking -- emotionally, relationally, and academically -- gradually building confidence, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving skills, all within the framework of Biblical truth.
As a community, we also value God’s creativity, including his intentional purpose to build His world with diversity. Fostering a community that values diversity in many forms, including socio-economic, racial, ethnic, church denomination, and learning styles among children, creates opportunity for students at an early age to begin to learn what it looks like to live in community with those who bring different experiences to our classrooms while simultaneously being united by shared Biblical beliefs. Our hope is to reflect God’s heart for His people by representing the diversity of his Kingdom among our families, and that He would use our differences to shape us into people who more deeply understand His heart for all his children.
